The Town Treasurer is elected by the voters for a two-year term. The Town Treasurer appoints the Deputy Treasurer, Tax Assessor and Tax Collector. The Treasurer’s Office is responsible for the timely deposits of all receipts and revenues into the Town of Scituate’s Treasury. The Treasurer is responsible for sound financial investments, oversees notes, bonds and police, teachers and municipal employee’s pensions. The Treasurers office is responsible for all of the Town’s financial operations, which also include all phases of the town budget, payroll, human resources, accounts payable, computer operations and debt issuance.
The Town Treasurer serves as a member of the Budget Committee, Finance Committee and the Town of Scituate Personnel Board.
